Amanda Kruse

Line Editor

Amanda Kruse graduated magna cum laude with a BA in creative writing at the University of Colorado at Boulder and has a graduate level publishing certificate from the University of Denver. She has worked with individual and small presses as an editor and proofreader for the last five years.

When not editing, she spends her time reading, riding her horse, or traveling the world in search of adventures.

Angela McRae

Line Editor

Angela McRae graduated from the University of West Georgia with a degree in Mass Communication and currently works as a full-time writer and editor. In addition to editing both fiction and nonfiction for clients in the US and abroad, she has served as a book critic for Kirkus Reviews and completed a year-long peer-reviewed project on immigrant entrepreneurship for the German Historical Institute in Washington, DC. She also coordinates PR for local nonprofits.

When she’s not editing fiction for Red Adept, she enjoys reading cozy mysteries, police procedurals, crime thrillers, and historical novels with an inspirational element.

Angie Lovell

Content Editor

Angie Lovell has an MA in English from Eastern Illinois University and works as a full-time writer and editor.  She currently lives in Georgia with her husband and their two daughters.

Angie has a long history of working with small presses and indie authors. While she enjoys a wide variety of fiction, she particularly enjoys stories that present complex characters and relationships.

Darlene Gardner

Line Editor

Darlene Gardner has a degree in journalism from Penn State and worked at daily newspapers as a feature writer, sportswriter, and copy editor before becoming a novelist. She has written more than forty books, most of them romances published with Harlequin.

She lives outside Washington, DC, with her husband and is an avid reader who adores audiobooks, travel, hiking, game nights, and getting together with friends. When she’s not in front of a computer, she’s most likely on a tennis court.

Diane Byington

After a career as a college professor, Diane Byington obtained a certificate in novel writing from Stanford and later trained in book coaching. She divides her time between Colorado and Florida, where kayaking and hiking are her passions.

When Diane’s not outdoors, she’s likely to often curled up on the couch with a book in her hand. She particularly loves women’s fiction and mysteries but enjoys most other genres.

Irene Steiger

Proofreader

Irene Steiger spent most of her childhood with her nose glued to a book, and she’s still rarely without a stack from the library, though pesky little things like college classes keep getting in the way of her reading.

While she will read just about anything, her favorites are sci-fi/fantasy, humor, mystery, historical fiction, suspense, paranormal…and so on and so forth.

Irene is kept well in hand by her cat Felice, AKA Squeaky.

Jessica Anderegg

Jessica Anderegg has over ten years of experience as an editor, working for both publishing houses and independent authors.

She has content edited pieces of every length and genre, staying up-to-date on publishing trends to help authors make their books not only polished but marketable.

Kelly Reed

Line Editor

Lawrence Kelvin Reed (Kelly to you) has a B.A. and an M.A. in English literature. He was a copy editor at Pacific Press Publishing Association in Nampa, ID for more than two years and has taught English classes at La Sierra University in Riverside, CA for more than ten. Most of those classes have been college writing or English as a second language, but he did get to teach linguistics once, which was the best class ever.

Kelly enjoys reading, playing video games and board games, and watching many television shows and films. He is a cat person but believes that dog people are not wholly irredeemable.

Kim Husband

Copy Editor / Proofreader

Kim Husband, M.A., is a freelance copyeditor and proofreader based in the Twin Cities (MN). She has copyedited or proofread more than 500 textbooks for clients that include Sage Publications and Cambridge University Press; financial news for The Motley Fool; online course materials for the University of Minnesota; and corporate communications for Wells Fargo. She has copyedited or proofread more than 450 novels ranging in topic from autobiographical fiction to mystery to science fiction. She also taught writing at the University of Maine for two years.

In her free time, Kim studies and teaches T’ai Chi and other martial arts and has edited and contributed to books on those subjects.

Kristina Baker

Kristina Baker lives in the Philadelphia area and is a University of Pittsburgh graduate. She has worked on hundreds of novels with Red Adept and also works as an editor, writer, and ESL teacher.

In her free time, she likes to read and spend time with her dog, Rocky.

Laura Koons

Copy Editor / Proofreader

Laura E. Koons attended Lycoming College and then completed graduate degrees in Creative Writing at both Ohio University and The University of Tennessee. She has worked on several literary magazines including Quarter After Eight, Drunken Boat: an online journal of art and literature, and Grist: The Journal for Writers, where she served as Fiction Editor for the inaugural issue. She currently edits for Red Adept Publishing. In her free time, Laura can usually be found with a book in hand, but sometimes she puts them down long enough to enjoy swimming, crocheting, and doing volunteer work at both her local library and history museum. She lives in Virginia with her husband and two ancient, snarky cats.

Libybet Rueda Gynn

Libybet Rueda Gynn is a longtime lover of novels and short-story fiction and a perfectionist since birth, which lends to her passion for copyediting and proofreading anything from books to her lifestyle blog to friends’ Facebook posts. She has a B.S. in Psychology and a B.A. in Economics.

In her free time she enjoys working out, antique-store hopping, figure skating, and binge-watching crime dramas.

Lynn McNamee

Lynn McNamee grew up in Arkansas and Tennessee. She joined the US Army right out of high school and spent most of her tour in Germany. After completing her military contract, she moved to Texas, then to Idaho, then back to Arkansas. She now resides in North Carolina with her husband and two dogs, and she thinks of NC as her “forever home.”

After spending over 15 years in the corporate world of accounting, she decided to pursue a new career as a fiction editor. With her love of books and helping authors succeed, she brought the best editors and proofreaders on board to ensure RAE’s clients received top-notch polishing for their books.

Mary Morris

Line Editor

Mary Morris holds an MFA in creative writing from Southern Illinois University—Carbondale and taught English and literature for more than a decade. Today, she ghostwrites nonfiction in addition to her work as a line editor, copy editor, and proofreader for Red Adept. Mary’s fiction, nonfiction, and poetry have appeared in various literary magazines, and she co-writes urban-fantasy, paranormal romance, and post-apocalyptic novels under the pen name Phoebe Walker.

Mary lives in the wilds of southeastern Illinois with her husband, her children, and miscellaneous cats. When she’s not working, she divides her time between wrangling kids; watching TV with her husband; reading romance/women’s fiction, SFF, graphic novels, fanfiction, etc.; and writing whenever possible. She doesn’t remember the last time she was bored, but it was probably sometime in the ‘90s. 

Rashida Breen

Rashida Breen has been a lover of words since she was old enough to pick up a book. As a full-time writer and editor, she has experience working with both traditionally and independently published authors. She enjoys reading most genres, but especially sci-fi/fantasy, mystery, and romance.

When she’s not absorbed in an imaginary world, she can be found playing video games, getting way too involved in DIY projects, and attempting to bake. She lives in south Florida with her husband, son, and two cats.

Sabrina Williams

Sabrina is a proofreader, writer, and lifelong bookworm. With a background as a bookseller, she’s been able to share her love of storytelling with many others. She especially loves science fiction, historical fiction, and mysteries.

When she’s not reading, Sabrina can be found tinkering in her workshop, drawing, or watching old movies.  She lives with her husband in West Virginia.

Sarah Carleton

Sarah Carleton is a published poet and compulsive reader of fiction. She has a B.A. in English from Vassar College. As an editor, she has worked with all kinds of documents, but novels are her favorite.

When not reading and writing, Sarah spends her time playing old-time banjo, knitting, homeschooling, and learning languages. She lives in Tampa with her husband and son.

Stefanie Spangler Buswell

Stefanie Spangler Buswell has a bachelor of arts from Western Illinois University. Her projects include everything from novels and children’s books to web content for small businesses.

In her free time, she enjoys cultivating her plot of weeds that she hopes will one day become a garden and vacuuming her daughters’ messes off the carpet.

Susannah Driver

Susannah Driver lives in North Carolina and has a bachelor’s degree in English.

When not at her day job working at a telecommunications company, she enjoys reading anything from mysteries to sci-fi to contemporary fiction, writing, and traveling as much as possible.

Taylor Anhalt

Taylor Anhalt graduated from Albion College with a bachelor’s degree in English Creative Writing. She discovered a passion for editing in college and has interned at multiple small presses. Currently, she’s working toward her master’s in English and writing at Bradley University.

Taylor stays active as a runner and loves to travel whenever possible. Like a typical writer, she’s a coffee addict and can be found at a café typing away.

Virge Buck

From very early on, Virge Buck’s life has revolved around books. Therefore, a career in proofreading and copyediting was the only logical choice. The genre of manuscript being attended to matters little. Rather, the process of combing a work of fiction or nonfiction for errors is the priority.

Virge has a B. A. and an M. A. in English. Outside of reading, her interests include music and meditation.
